Australia Bridging Program

Bridging Program for Registered and Enrolled Nurses

This course is held twice a year in March and September and is limited to 20 participants in each class.

Aim of the Bridging Program

The aim of this program is to provide:

Overseas-educated and currently-practicing Registered & Enrolled nurses (at least one years experience) with theoretical learning and clinical practice in a hospital setting, leading to registration with the Nurses & Midwives Board in Australia.

Course Structure and Assessment Criteria:

The theory component consists of four weeks of study and skills assessment. Both the theory and clinical practice (20 X 8-hr shifts) component of the course need to be completed within a 26-week period from date of commencement.

Course Costs:

The course cost is included in the SNI package of $5000 USD (payable in two parts). This payment covers expenses such as Nursing Board and course fees, assistance with two-weeks housing, visa, plus airfare from course location to where you will start work as a nurse. This employment will be arranged by SNI.

Course Application Requirements include:

A letter from the Australian Nursing Board directing the nurse to a Bridging course following assessment of qualifications (SNI will process this for you after we receive your resume and English Test results)
An acceptable English test score

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

Required score: Academic IELTS with a score of at least 6.5 in reading and listening and at least a 7 in speaking and writing with an overall band of 7 (see: www.ielts.org for information on this English test)

Occupational English Test (OET)

Applicants are required to have a 'B' pass or above in each of the sections of the test.

Please note: SNI reserves the right to select applicants based on future job prospects. If there is no need for your specialty we will not direct you to this course.
