FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I arrange accomodation for the entire program?

·        Yes, the cost of home stay accommodation is approximately 80 GBP per week. This will be added to the overall cost. Make sure you have enough money to cover your accommodation. Many who attend this program prefer to rent their own accommodation after they have been in the UK for a month and share with friends.

Can I work while going to school?

·        You can work in the UK part-time while at school but not as a registered nurse. We can not find this part-time employment for you but you will be directed to what is available.

Do I have to pass IELTS before I will be accepted?

·        Yes – you will need a score of at least 5.5 overall to be accepted into this program. Remember, the goal is to get you to an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a speaking band of 7.0 so that you can be hired by an employer in the USA and receive your Visa Screen Certificate. You will take the IELTS test while in the UK and prior to starting the NCLEX Training Program.

What is a Visa Screen Certificate?

·        This is the certificate that is needed by the US government for you to receive your ‘green card’ visa to enter the United States to work as a nurse. It is a credentialing of your education and issued by ICHP which is part of CGFNS. You will be guided through the process of applying for this visa screen while attending the NCLEX Training Session of the program.

How do I get registered in America to take the NCLEX exam?

·        As part of this program SNI will provide all application forms for registration and assist you with registering while you are attending the NCLEX portion of the program. SNI will guide you through the application process for the State Board where you wish to register.

When can I take the NCLEX and where?

·        When you have completed the total training course and have been approved by the State licensing Board to take NCLEX, you will be booked into the London testing center. You will be encouraged to take the NCLEX upon graduation from the program. Should you wish to take the exam at another center, this can be arranged.

What happens after I complete the program?

·        Once you have completed the program a representative from SNI will visit each class to present our clients, collect resumes and applications and will interview and advise each nurse separately. Your applications will then be presented to our clients for an interview.

Will I be guaranteed a job in America when I complete the program?

·        We cannot guarantee you a job as SNI is not the sponsoring agency. You will be sponsored by one of our clients who will be your employer. You will be hired based on experience and qualifications. Each nurse will have a personal interview with the prospective employer, either by phone or in person. When accepted for employment a job offer letter or contract will be issued to you by the employer. You are free to accept or reject the offer.

Do I have to go back to my home country after completing the program?

·        Yes! This is a condition for receiving your visa from the British Embassy. You will not have a visa to work in the U.K. once you have completed your training. One of the conditions of employment as a registered nurse in the USA is that you are currently working in a hospital setting. Every nurse needs to get as much experience as he/she can in his or her home country while waiting for the U.S. visa process to be completed. Employers do not want the nurse to be out of a clinical setting for too long.

Is there a payment program?

·        Yes - in two parts. To receive a visa from the British Embassy you must pay the course amount in full and show a receipt. The remaining cost will be due upon receipt of the visa and before leaving your home country.

Is there a refund policy?

·        Yes - Should you not be issued a visa to study in the U.K. all monies will be refunded to you except the cost of the program enrollment fee (150 GBP) and an administrative fee of 200GBP. Should you drop out of the course after starting there is no refund policy.

Please remember:

This program is designed to assist you with the English language, especially communication English to reach the necessary passing score in the English exams required to work in America, followed by a training and review course that will enable you to pass the American Nursing Boards (NCLEX). When you have completed this program you will be issued a certificate of pass.
